It all started with planting a cottage garden here at Acorn Cottage aka 

The Potting Shed HQ, our home for over 20 years, following a building renovation project.  Roses, eryngiums, lavender, hollyhocks and cardoons and lots more were added to give floral interest. Once you start learning about flowers and shrubs its becomes addictive. Well it certainly was for me.  

Horticulture and farming is in my ancestral dna but that's another story, so developing an interest in flowers shouldn't have been a surprise.   

The cutting garden is under further development and I will keep you informed as this progresses in 2024.

Hi, I'm Caroline and just a little snippet about me.  After a successful teaching career, and before that working in a  design office, I wanted to continue to be creative.  I embarked on a floristry course to delve deeper into the wonderful world of flowers and foliage which I found equally fascinating and this adventure continues.

I've lived in the beautiful County of Shropshire for five decades and Telford has some of the most fantastic history and communities within it.  Why wouldn't you wish to provide a service to those who also make it their home.

The Potting Shed is a small scale floral business, based in Telford, with easy access to surrounding towns and villages. 

Based from a home studio we serve  communities without a high street presence which has its own advantages.

The decision to do this really comes from cottage style industries and having rural Scottish ancestry where this works well  and offers more of a personal touch and a bespoke service.  Take a peek on 'We offer' to get an idea of how we could help you.

Although we would like to just use local Shropshire grown flowers, this is not always possible at the moment.  We source flowers to order, and therefore there is a lead time on all orders.
