The Potting Shed story
It all started with planting a cottage garden here at Acorn Cottage aka
The Potting Shed HQ, our home for over 20 years, following a building renovation project. Roses, eryngiums, lavender, hollyhocks and cardoons and lots more were added to give floral interest. Once you start learning about flowers and shrubs its becomes addictive. Well it certainly was for me.
Horticulture and farming is in my ancestral dna but that's another story, so developing an interest in flowers shouldn't have been a surprise.
The cutting garden is under further development and I will keep you informed as this progresses.
About me
Caroline has had a successful career in both a design environment and then secondary teaching. In 2021 she decided to embark on her own business to merge her love of gardening and the creativity of using foliage and flowers.
The Potting Shed, Telford combines all past professional skills and continues to develop new ones in the world of floristry. Having studied floristry at college and then embarking on further development with Flower schools. Caroline strongly believes that learning is 'life long' and she is lucky to invest in continual professional development to enhance what she can offer to customers.
Imparting floral skills onto others through her workshops continues to allow others to learn and find their own enthusiasm with floral delights.

The Potting Shed is a small scale floral business, based in Telford, with easy access to surrounding towns and villages.
Based from a home studio we serve communities without a high street presence which has its own advantages.
The decision to do this really comes from cottage style industries and having rural Scottish ancestry where this works well and offers more of a personal touch and a bespoke service. Take a peek on 'We offer' to get an idea of how we could help you.
Although we would like to just use local Shropshire grown flowers, this is not always possible at the moment. We source flowers to order, and therefore there is a lead time on all orders.
